It has been a busy week for celebrity brand deals in Ghana. Actress and TV host Nana Ama McBrown and her daughter, Baby Maxine, have teamed up with noodle brand Indomie, while McBrown's Onua TV colleague AJ Poundz has been unveiled as an ambassador for two PZ Cussons Ghana brands.
According to YEN.com.gh, McBrown announced the Indomie partnership on Instagram on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. The deal also marks Baby Maxine's debut in an Indomie commercial, in which she appears on camera in a professional advertising shoot.
Rather than a formal announcement, McBrown used her caption to give thanks. "Hello Family. I want to thank the Almighty again," she wrote, according to the report.
YEN.com.gh describes the deal as the pair's first joint ambassadorial role. The terms and length of the partnership were not disclosed, and the report did not name any executives from the brand.
A day later, on Wednesday, October 14, PZ Cussons Ghana unveiled AJ Poundz as Family Care Ambassador for CAMEL Antiseptic and Cussons Baby at a signing ceremony, YEN.com.gh reports.
According to the company, the partnership is meant to strengthen the brands' ties with Ghanaian households by promoting hygiene, protection and baby care. PZ Cussons Ghana said AJ Poundz's experience as a mother of three would help the brands connect with consumers in a relatable way.
AJ Poundz is a media personality and entrepreneur best known for her work on Onua TV and Onua 95.1 FM, where she describes herself as a "utility player". In June 2025, she stepped in to host Onua Showtime while McBrown took an extended break for health reasons, and she hosted her final episode on August 24, 2025, after McBrown returned, according to YEN.com.gh.
At the time, AJ Poundz publicly thanked McBrown for her trust and support, and the two remain colleagues at the station.
Nana Ama McBrown is one of Ghana's most marketable stars. She rose to fame as an actress, with roles in many Kumawood and English-language films and the long-running TV series Efiewura, before moving into television presenting. As host of Onua Showtime on Onua TV, she has become one of the most-watched faces on Ghanaian television.
She has fronted campaigns for several major brands over the years, and her large social media following makes her a sought-after ambassador. Baby Maxine, her daughter with businessman Maxwell Mensah, has also built a following of her own through appearances on her mother's social media pages.
Both deals lean on motherhood and family life. For food and household brands, celebrity mothers offer a way to speak directly to the parents who make most shopping decisions for the home. Featuring a child alongside a parent, as in the Indomie campaign, also allows brands to target young viewers and families at the same time.
Instant noodles, antiseptics and baby products are everyday items in many Ghanaian homes, and competition in these categories is strong. Brand ambassadors with trusted public images help companies stand out in a crowded market.
The deals follow a run of major ambassador announcements in Ghana's entertainment industry. Last week, rapper Black Sherif was unveiled as the face of Telecel Cash at a launch in Accra.
For entertainers, these partnerships are an important source of income alongside shows, films and broadcasting work. For brands, they are a way to reach audiences who follow stars closely on television and social media.
Fans can expect to see McBrown and Baby Maxine in new Indomie adverts in the coming weeks, while AJ Poundz is likely to front campaigns for CAMEL and Cussons Baby on television, radio and social media. Neither company has published full campaign plans yet.
