The 20th-anniversary edition of Ghana's Most Beautiful is entering its final week. According to a report by YEN.com.gh, seven contestants remain in the competition, with the grand finale set for Sunday, October 18, 2026.
TV3's long-running pageant, branded GMB@20 this year, has spent the past weeks celebrating Ghanaian culture through themed nights, with contestants evicted along the way based on performances and public votes.
According to YEN.com.gh, the contestants still in the race are:
YEN.com.gh reports that Lamiley has collected the most awards so far, including several Star Performer awards, Best Costume on Traditional Delicacy Night and Kivo Woman of the Week on One Africa Night.
Sessinam has also built a strong record and, according to the report, has the most visible institutional backing, with the Volta Regional Minister pledging GH¢10,000 towards her campaign.
Other contestants have had their moments too. In late September, 3News reported that Nana Konadu won Star Performer, while Ayinboma and Arhinmaa took top awards on the same night.
YEN.com.gh cautions that "award wins and public votes are two very different things", meaning that fan support could still shape the final result.
The GMB@20 queen will take home a car, GH¢200,000 in cash, a master's degree scholarship and a gold jewellery set, according to YEN.com.gh. She will also have the chance to represent Ghana at the Miss Earth pageant.
Miss Earth is an international pageant that focuses on environmental awareness, and its contestants are expected to champion conservation and climate causes during their reign. A place there would give the new GMB queen an international platform, alongside the community project that winners traditionally run at home.
With a car, a large cash prize and a scholarship at stake, the final week is expected to be one of the most closely followed of the season.
This year's competition began with contestants from across Ghana's 16 regions. 3News has reported a string of evictions over the weeks, including Ohenewaa of the Eastern Region and Kiba of the Savannah Region after a night celebrating Ghana's heroes and heroines, Besiwaa after One Africa Night, and Anile and Basi in an earlier week.
Themed nights have covered Ghana's festivals, sacred traditions, tourism, fashion, food and national heroes, giving contestants a chance to show their knowledge of the country's culture as well as their stage presence.
Ghana's Most Beautiful has been one of TV3's biggest shows since it began in the mid-2000s. Its focus on regional representation and culture has made it different from many other pageants, and its winners often go on to run community projects during their reign.
The current queen, Isabella Etornam Gagblezu of the Volta Region, won the 2025 crown in October last year. Earlier this month she commissioned an ICT laboratory at Juapong R.C. Basic School in the North Tongu District as part of her early childhood education project.
With a week to go, campaigns for each contestant are expected to intensify, as regional supporters, chiefs and politicians rally behind their candidates. Viewers will be watching to see whether Lamiley's run of awards turns into the crown, or whether Sessinam can give the Volta Region a second straight win.
For the contestants, the final week is also a last chance to win over voters with their stage performances, interviews and campaign activities across their home regions.
Talk Talk will report the result after the grand finale on October 18.
