Entertainment Week Ghana is back for a second year, and this time it is putting money and technology at the centre of the conversation. According to reports carried by GhanaWeb, AmeyawDebrah.com and Asaase Radio, the 2026 edition has opened with the second Creative Economy Incubator and Deal Room, a platform designed to link Ghana's creative businesses with investors, technology and institutional support.
The programme runs through to December and covers entrepreneurship, investment, music, fashion, film, visual arts and live entertainment.
The incubator is being run in partnership with Paystack, WeWire and Google, according to the organisers' announcement. This year's edition focuses on where artificial intelligence, technology, capital and creativity meet.
It is aimed at entrepreneurs working in media and storytelling, fashion technology and e-commerce, creator tools, distribution and streaming, gaming, sports, film and television, and event technology. Selected participants will receive mentorship and support in areas including technology and AI, finance, legal matters, monetisation, business development and investment readiness.
The first edition in 2025 attracted more than 50 submissions. The overall winner, Seudio, received GH¢50,000 to grow its business, according to the organisers.
Organisers have published the main dates for this year's programme:
The organisers also say they plan to launch a first report on Ghana's creative economy, with details to be announced. Such a report could give policymakers and investors a clearer picture of a sector that is widely discussed but often poorly measured.
The 2025 edition was backed by the Ghana Tourism Authority, the Black Star Experience, the National Film Authority and the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment, with Konica Minolta as a major sponsor. The official launch was attended by the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare-Addo, and media personality Abeiku Santana.
Speakers at last year's summit included Ibrahim Mahama, AfroFuture chief executive Abdul Karim Abdullah, GUBA Enterprise chief executive Dentaa Amoateng, musician Rex Omar and Ashesi entrepreneurship lecturer Jewel Thomson, alongside executives from Hennessy and Diageo.
The Atalé fashion party at Treehouse in Accra featured designers including Christie Brown, Free The Youth, Bloom by Edzi, Kula Perry and Atto Andoh. The Airwaves Beach Festival, held at SI Beach with Lynx Entertainment, included an all-female panel on women's representation in music, joined by Stonebwoy. A film strand developed with Akuna Pod and Bravado featured Joselyn Dumas, Ivan Quashigah and James Gardiner.
The 2026 edition is powered by BlacVolta, PartyXtra and Q Africa. Further information is available on the organisers' official website, entertainmentweekghana.com.
Entertainment Week Ghana adds to a packed end-of-year calendar in Accra, when thousands of visitors from the diaspora arrive for concerts, festivals, fashion shows and parties. In recent years, government campaigns under the Black Star Experience have tried to turn that season into a year-round driver of tourism and creative-sector income.
What sets this programme apart is its focus on business. Rather than only staging events, it is trying to help creative entrepreneurs build companies that can attract investment and last beyond the festive season.
Ghana's creative industries, from music and fashion to film and digital content, employ many young people, but access to finance remains one of the sector's biggest problems. Many creative businesses struggle to get loans or investment because lenders find them hard to value.
Initiatives that combine mentorship with direct access to funders, as the Deal Room aims to do, could help close that gap. With tech and payments companies such as Paystack, WeWire and Google on board, the 2026 incubator also points to how closely the creative economy is now tied to digital platforms and online payments.
Applicants and fans will be watching for the announcement of this year's incubator cohort and the speaker line-up for the November summit.
